I have found a great way to save time at the end of your painting day.  Wrap your brush or roller in plastic wrap and put them in the freezer.  When you are ready to paint the same color again just set them out and let them thaw.  This will save you time and money.

If you have oil leaking from your car in your garage it can make an unsightly mess.  We recently had oil leaking from our boiler onto our cement basement floor.  I put a couple of cups of cat litter on it and it soaked it right up.  Let it sit for 24 hours if you can and sweep it up.  The litter will absorb the oil and your mess is gone!

plastic containers

Once you have reduced your clutter, organize what you keep.  Buy some plastic containers and label them.  The containers will keep your stuff dry, clean and together.  There are so many containers now that are color coded for different Holidays or built for any use and are inexpensive.  I use them over and over.

reducing your clutter

The first step in becoming organized is reducing clutter. My rule is if I don’t touch something for an entire year….it goes.  Have a garage sale, use craigslist, or donate and get that write-off.

emergency roadside kit

Winter is here & it is time to create a quick kit for your car.  It’s best if you can buy a set that has jumper cables and a few other tools for repairs.  I made a homemade kit in a shoebox recently & put the following in it:  A flannel sheet, water bottles, granola bars, matches, candles, & a small baggie of alcohol swabs & band aids.
It is better to be safe than sorry!
