close the lid while flushing

You should always shut the lid on your toilet when you flush. Flushing can make the water in the toilet mist and spray up to 20ft. away. It’s one easy thing to help stop the spread of germs during cold season. YUCK!
I find that it also helps when you put a bit of toilet paper in the tank before you go potty to prevent splash back. That cold water can really get you.
