5 TIPS FOR SURFBOARD LONGEVITY

1. Share with caution~ Know who you are letting ride your board. If they don’t know what they are doing…think twice about it.

2. Check for dings and fix them~ Look your board over carefully for dings and dents that may let water into the core. If you find one~ use a repair kit or have it fixed by a pro at a surfboard shop. (if you must ride immediately-try duct tape to seal it and then fix correctly)

3. What goes up must come down~ Think about where you set your board at home or anywhere for that matter. A dog, kid, clumsy friend or gust of wind can come along and down goes the board.

4. Watch the rays~ UV rays can break down the fiberglass exterior of your board. Keep it out of the sun and heat when not in use. The heat can also melt your wax and leave a mess.

5. Bag it~ Spend the extra $30 on a board sock or get a surfboard bag. If you live any distance from the beach and have to travel…this will save your board from unwanted dings. It’s also a great way to store the boards that you don’t ride as often.
